So The Bahamas has decided it is going to ban a range of single use plastic products from 2020.
The article says:
The Minister explained that the Ministry of Environment has been working on formulating and pushing regulations with Parliament that address plastic use in the country and agreed that through laws and swift action, the problem of plastic pollution will be reversed in The Bahamas.
Why can’t Bermuda do this? Why isn’t it even on Government’s agenda?
It is on issues such as this that Government needs to be taking the lead. Bermuda is largely a throw-away society (just look at the amount of trash piled up under bushes) and if people are not prepared to act themselves that is for the benefit of all, then Government steps in.
