After 30 years in the newspaper business – holding senior editorial positions in the UK and in Bermuda – I have now set up my own public and media relations business, Deep Blue Communications.
My media career came to an abrupt halt in July 2013 when I parted company with The Royal Gazette, where I had been Deputy Editor. There have been many rumours about why I left, but suffice to say, I left with my head held high.
But as one door closed, another opened and I am enjoying the freedom that self-employment brings.
It allows me to write this blog, which I hope you enjoy, and it allows me to meet far more people than I have ever done.
I am married to a beautiful wife, Bermudian-born Elizabeth (nee Harvey) and I have two lovely children, Hannah and Oliver, and live in St David’s where we are always watchful for those giant centipedes (they really are!)
If you want to hire me email jdeacon@northrock.bm, if you want to comment on my blogs email me or just leave a comment. If you want to pass the time of day, drop me a line.

This website was started as Bears I’m Jealous Of which was totally dedicated
to hairy men. Many bloggers will put ads on their blog and make money when
someone clicks on an ad.
Jeremy centerpedes are no big deal unless you get bitten by one. While St David’s is known as one of the main areas they are found West End isn’t as bad as say Texas Road or the Battery. In any case welcome to Gods land and thanks for the table. Lol
I know – but they are fearsome looking creatures…. hope you Mum likes the table. Take care.
